About this event
Please join IWiN's International Women's Day for an interactive session on opportunities and challenges of social enterprise with afternoon tea and insightful discussion, entertainment and networking.

Are you thinking of starting a business with a social cause? Or, have you already planned your business and ready to take off? Or, you just want to do something that you like while helping others?

Then don't miss the keynote address by Cindy Mitchell, CEO of Mill House Clinic @ University of Canberra. Cindy is the 2020 ACT Woman of the Year and a guru in social enterprise field. She is the founder of Mill House Clinic that trained and mentored numerous multicultural start ups with a social cause . She will talk about how to set up a business, its challenges and strategies to manage those and how to seek support.

You will also hear from ACT's top Women Leaders - MLA Tara Cheyne, ACT Minister For Business and Multicultural Affairs and Elizabeth Lee MLA, Leader of Opposition at the ACT legislative Assembly. They will talk about what opportunities are available and what strategies are in place in ACT to assist women who are keen on starting their own business.

And finally, there will be a session with 'meal artists' from IWiN-SOULAB led Her Kitchen Table (HKT), a unique social enterprise in ACT that trains and helps migrant women running their own catering business online, while creating a strong support network for these marginalised women.

The IWD event will start with a 'Meet & Greet" networking session from 2:00-2:30pm, followed by a formal program from 2:30-4:30pm. Free parking is available for all attendees close to the Function Hall at the venue. All COVID-9 safe practices will be maintained at the venue including the use of hand sanitisers and individualised food serves.

IWiN is grateful to The Mill House Clinic, South Asian Federation ACT (SAFACT) and Social Outcomes Lab (SOULAB) for supporting the event..
